So I've just reinstalled Steam on a new PC. I have no backup of the Steam folder so I've gotta DL everything from scratch. Is there an option for it to just "download everything I own" ? I can't seem to find one and it's time consuming and annoying going into everything one by one, picking install, waiting for it to check things, etc.

Thanks

No there isn't. I think they prefer people to download games as they play them instead of hammering the servers all at once?

Stupid thing. Even if they had an option to queue it all up :(

Rofl, no you certainly can't do that! As noise said, it will hammer they're servers if you went to download all the games you own.

For me that's about 60GB of data, maybe more. Sucom2 takes 10GB

It'll only go as fast as my internet connection anyway ... it takes me long enough to queue stuff up but it really doesn't save any load on their servers??

Well if you only download what you need then its better for everyone.

Better for other users of your broadband provider, better for other steam users, better for the internet in general. :D

I've got over 250gb in games on Steam. Imagine if I used a download all button!

Is it not the same as queueing everything up one by one though? Surely you can still only download the same amount of stuff at once?

yes. but, i'm guessing here, that not having a download all button puts people off download all the games they own. This might make them download only the games they are going to play soon. Or it might make them backup the games before they delete them from their computer?

I had the Steam folder backed up but forgot which HDD it was on and formatted it by mistake for something else ... yes, I'm an idiot. I know.
